Our Team

Mike Kelleher, CEO

Mike Kelleher is responsible for the guidance in business directives, daily operations, and annual budget decisions. He holds 30+ years in the earthwork and underground utility construction industry. He is a lifelong Grand Valley resident who has worked on many notable projects in the valley and surrounding communities. Because of the notable time spent working in the area, Mike respects and understands the relationship of the soils and environmental characteristics that are unique to the Grand Valley.

John Chutka, Vice President

John Chutka has been employed with Skyline Contracting, Inc. since 1998 as a project manager and was appointed to the position of Vice-President in 2008. He holds a degree in Construction Management from Purdue University. He has been the Chief Estimator/Project Manager for Skyline since 2000, and has been instrumental in obtaining some of the largest contracts in Skyline’s history including: the Century Project for St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, the Cameo Power Plant Decommissioning Project, and the Price Stubb Fish Ladder in the Colorado River. 

Diane Fugate, CFO

Diane Fugate is the Chief Financial Officer of Skyline Contracting, Inc. Her duties include business management, human resources, and maintaining the financial integrity of the corporation. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Mesa State College and is a lifelong resident of the area. She has worked in the construction and oil and gas industries for the entirety of her career.

Personnel Team

Skyline currently employs 37 full-time employees. An average crew includes the classifications of foreman, first lead-operator, equipment operator, driver, and ground labor. Skyline employees are trained in CPR/First Aid response, Excavation Competent Person, OSHA 10-Hour, Trench Shore Training, Storm Water Management, and are always encouraged to improve their operator classification skills. All of the current foremen have been employed with Skyline Contracting, Inc. for 10 years or more. Most employees have over 5 years of service on the team.

The positions we are currently hiring in the Grand Junction, Colorado community are: laborers, equipment operators, and a CDL driver.

Step One: Please complete the application attached below or stop by our office to obtain one, and bring it in with your Motor Vehicle Record*. At that time, we will take a copy of your license if applicable.

Step Two: If offered a position, we do require a drug test and run a background check.


*We require a copy of your drivers license and an MVR record – We like to stress that you DO NOT have to have a drivers license to work for us, but we do have to know your license status for our insurance company. If you don’t have a license, we just make sure you don’t drive any of our vehicles.
